John Berry is a Grammy and Emmy award winning singer-songwriter who rose to prominence on the country charts in the 1990s with hits like “Your Love Amazes Me,” “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye,” and “She’s Taken a Shine.” Over the course of his career, he has placed 20 singles on the country charts, including six Top 5 hits and multiple #1 songs on Billboard and Radio & Records. He has earned Gold and Platinum records, received nominations from the ACM, CMA, and Grammy Awards, and won a Grammy in 1996 for his work on Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel Vol. 1. Known for his powerful voice and emotional delivery, Berry has also built a lasting holiday tradition through his annual Christmas tours and his beloved recording of “O’ Holy Night.”

Born in South Carolina and raised in Georgia, Berry began playing guitar at age 13 and went on to start recording at 19. Between 1979 and 1990, he released six albums independently before signing with Capitol Records in 1992. His early major label success came with songs such as “A Mind of Her Own,” “Kiss Me in the Car,” and the breakthrough hits that made him a country star in 1994 and 1995. He continued that success with songs like “Change My Mind,” “She’s Taken a Shine,” and the 1999 Patsy Cline duet “There He Goes.” Over the years, Berry has continued to record and tour steadily, releasing projects including Songs and Stories, I Give My Heart, Those Were the Days, Thomas Road, and the faith-based album Find My Joy, while performing in formats ranging from solo acoustic shows to full-band concerts.

In addition to his recording and touring career, Berry has remained active through television, fan supported projects, and new creative ventures. He launched the syndicated television series Songs and Stories with John Berry in 2017, reaching audiences across the United States, the UK, and New Zealand. In 2019, he faced and overcame tonsil cancer, returning to the stage after successful treatment. During 2020, he expanded his connection with fans through livestreams, children’s programming, a new recording of “The Graduation Song,” and the podcast Faith Family & Friends with John & Robin Berry. A member of both the North American Country Music Association International Hall of Fame and the South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame, Berry continues to celebrate a long and influential career, including major anniversary milestones for many of his best known hits and his beloved “Christmas With John Berry” tour.
