SUGARCREEK, OHIO – Ohio Star Theater is again receiving reports of unauthorized, third-party websites selling tickets to upcoming shows. This has been an ongoing issue not just for the theater but for live entertainment venues everywhere.
“Third-party ticket sellers are not helping our industry. We have no control over what they charge, how they market our information, or how — even if, they pass on their customer information to us,” said Larissa Carrick, Ohio Star Theater Operations Manager. “It causes confusion and frustration for our customers and staff. We want to provide the best possible customer service, but when we do not have control over the initial sale and the information that is disbursed, there is very little we’re able to do.”
Carrick has heard from many Ohio Star Theater customers who have been taken advantage of by third-party ticket sellers.
“Not only do they often end up paying significantly more for their tickets, but sometimes the third-party site doesn’t even put the tickets in the customer’s name, leaving those customers to find out upon arrival at our theater that they don’t actually have tickets. In many instances customers who purchase through third-party sites aren’t even given seat assignments, so we have no way to reconcile the purchase. ”
To ensure you receive valid tickets and don’t overpay, always purchase tickets directly from Ohio Star Theater at ohiostartheater.com or by phone at 855-344-7547.
