MIDDLEBURY, Ind. – The community is invited to help celebrate the latest improvements to Pickle Haus, the indoor pickleball complex at Essenhaus.
The facility will host an open house on Friday, Sept. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. to showcase the results of a multi-phase construction project that included a new entryway and lobby area. Managers Randi and Anita Yoder look forward to welcoming everyone into the upgraded space, which now features three additional courts, a check-in desk, and restrooms equipped with showers.
“From the moment you walk into the lobby, you will feel right at home as a pickleball player,” Randi Yoder explained. “The three most important elements for an indoor pickleball court are a great floor, maximum ceiling height, and bright lights that don’t shine in your eyes while you play. Pickle Haus features all three.”
Once a storage building where the Yoders enjoyed pickleball matches with friends using tape and temporary nets, Pickle Haus has become a hub for enthusiasts and newcomers to play, compete, and connect.
“We are so excited to be able to offer indoor pickleball for guests that live close or come from a distance to play,” Randi Yoder said. “To bring life to an area of a warehouse that was just being used for storage and to help with the demand for indoor courts in Northern Indiana is our goal.”
The open house on Sept. 12 will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a reception with refreshments and prize giveaways.
Pickle Haus is located at 817 Wayne Street. It’s open year-round and offers affordable pricing options, including membership and drop-in rates, as well as classes, skill drills, and tournaments. Learn more at essenhaus.com/pickle-haus/ or follow Pickle Haus Pickleball on Facebook.
