Dutchman Hospitality to build new headquarters in Walnut Creek, Ohio

WALNUT CREEK, Ohio – In 1969, three men set out to share a heritage of hearty, homemade meals with visitors to Ohio’s Amish Country. Together, they purchased a small, 75-seat family restaurant in Walnut Creek, dubbing the eatery Der Dutchman.

From those humble beginnings grew Dutchman Hospitality Group (DHG), a family-owned chain of restaurants, bakeries, inns, and gift stores in Ohio, Florida, and Indiana. Now, after more than 50 years of providing guests with experiences that celebrate the warm hospitality, traditional foods, simple comforts, and rural charm of Midwestern Amish and Mennonite communities, the company is planting new roots where it got its start.

Construction will begin soon on a new corporate headquarters to support DHG’s continued growth while anchoring its future in Walnut Creek.

“We are proud to call Walnut Creek home, and we are grateful for the opportunity to provide our team members with an enhanced corporate headquarters that will better support our expanding operations across Ohio, Indiana, and Florida,” said DHG President Mike Miller.

The three-story, 10,000-square-foot brick building will face Walnut Street/OH-515, across from Coblentz Chocolates. It was designed to resemble an Amish farmhouse to blend in with the rural landscape and will feature a green space with walking trails and seating areas for all to enjoy. Ivan Weaver Construction is overseeing the project, which is anticipated to last around 10 months with completion in the spring of 2027.
