SUGARCREEK, Ohio – Ohio Star Theater is offering some variety this spring.
While best known for its musicals and concerts, the theater hosts family-friendly performances of all kinds, including dance and comedy acts. In addition to returning favorites like Jeff Allen and Rhythm of the Dance, the spring entertainment lineup features comedienne Anita Renfroe on March 20, comedian/ventriloquist Taylor Mason on April 16, and Christian comic Brad Stine on May 2.
“Anita’s relatable mom-humor makes for the perfect girl’s night out; Taylor’s charming mix of comedy, music and ventriloquism will be fun for the whole family; and Brad’s high-energy, unapologetic style has made him one of the most sought-after Christian comics in the country,” said Ohio Star Theater Operations Manager Larissa Carrick.
With her blend of estrogen-flavored musical comedy, sass, and slightly offbeat takes on ‘All Things Female,’ Renfroe has made a career out of saying — and singing — what everyone else is thinking but doesn’t always say out loud. She rose to fame after a YouTube video of her mom-life anthem set to the “William Tell Overture” went viral.
Mason’s career has taken him around the world and into living rooms across the United States for the past 25 years. His latest adventure is a new variety show featuring the family-friendly adventures of a puppet named Children Talk.
Stine is considered the most media covered Christian comedian in the country, having been featured in the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today, among others. He has also appeared in numerous TV programs and films, released five DVDs, and authored several books.
