ABOUT JASON CRABB

Multi-award-winning artist Jason Crabb cannot be contained to one descriptor. An artist who crosses genres, formats and friend groups, Jason’s influence has touched nearly every part of the Christian and Gospel music community.

A two-time GRAMMY® Award winner with twenty-two GMA Dove Awards, Jason has been named both Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year by the GMA Dove Awards. He most recently won the 2023 Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year for his collaboration with Dylan Scott on “Good Morning Mercy,” a testament to his broad reach. “I’ve been doing this for 31 years and I have more testimony now than ever before,” Jason says. “If the passion and calling isn’t given by God, you’ll never get it all done. That passion from God is what drives me.”

After fourteen years of traveling and performing with legendary Southern Gospel group The Crabb Family, Jason branched out as a solo artist. The transition was an exciting but challenging one. “I had this long history of performing with my family and I wanted to honor that. I didn’t think I should do a complete 180 as a solo artist,” Crabb shares. “The people I had loved through the years, I didn’t want them to feel abandoned. I wanted to bring them along as I tried new things. It involved a lot of prayer. But every concert, every song, every note, every moment – we’ve learned something.”

Jason’s gamble on a solo career paid off. He carved his own path in Southern Gospel, Country, Gospel and Pop music, drawing on the music he loved as a kid. “I listened to everything growing up, which really shaped who I am as an artist. I listened to everything from Steven Curtis Chapman and Russ Taff and Michael English to The Goodmans and The Rambos and The Gaithers to CeCe Winans and Donnie McClurkin.” Having such a wide range of musical interests heavily influenced the kind of music Jason creates. While his songs are all consistent in message, his freedom to explore musical styles are what set him apart.

Beyond music, it’s Jason’s personality that lights up any room he enters. His genuine interest in people and infectious, friendly spirit has forged lifelong friendships throughout the music community. “I’ve recorded with Jamie Grace, the Winans family, Tye Tribbett and then will turn around and go on a Christmas tour with Trace Adkins and then play the Grand Ole Opry. The many different artists I’ve had the privilege to tour with and how they have helped me and treated me through the years and wrapped their arms around me – music is such a great community. It’s one of the best parts, getting to be with my fellow messengers out there.”

Jason’s latest offering, Good Morning Mercy, is perhaps the most accurate representation of who he is as an artist. “I always dreamed of making a CCM record,” he says. “When I was out on the road with my family, my parents said, ‘one day the timing will be right.’ I’m so glad I waited on God’s timing to make this record. And I’m so thankful for the people I got to work with. Every person who touched it, from the mixer to the liner notes, was the best of the best.”

Featuring Jesus-centered lyrics and Jason’s signature, ovation-getting vocals, at its heart, Good Morning Mercy is a reflection of Jason’s love for sharing Christ with people. Each song is a testimony to the Good News that changed his life, a message Jason’s been sharing since day one.

His latest single, “God Can Use A Broken Man,” is connecting with listeners in a profound way. “I’ve been receiving testimonies from people about how this song has helped them celebrate recovery, how it’s what they’re singing as they go through AA. It really gets down in the mud and the trenches and gives people hope. That’s what it’s all about for me.”

Building on his decades long career full of success and life-changing experiences, Jason has no plans to slow down. The passion that compelled him to finish high school out on the road singing with his family is the same passion that drives him today. “I’m still looking, still searching, still hoping. I still love what I get to do every day. And I’m so grateful – for my family, my managers, the incredible team that surrounds everything I do. Even though I’m the one standing on stage, it takes an army to make it all happen. I couldn’t do it without each one of them.”
