The Coop at Dutch Valley {SUGARCREEK}
Standing outside the quaint, clapboard structure that’s home to The Coop, it takes a bit of imagination to picture the building as it once was—a busy, noisy, two-story chicken coop in the middle of a working farm. But this special shop is full of surprises and country ingenuity, inside and out.
A new name, the same great style
Formerly known as Dutch Valley Furniture, The Coop still showcases the finest in Amish-made furniture from our local craftsmen. Now the store has been transformed to offer more of the “softer” side of home furnishings with textiles, upholstered furniture, kitchen gadgets and lighting.
The best of Ohio's Amish furniture
The store features various lines of heirloom-quality handcrafted furnishings on two floors of inventive displays and imaginative room settings. With the area's abundance of craftsmen, it's quite easy for our designers to be selective about the styles we offer. We've narrowed our selections to pieces that reflect the classic lines and stains of today's tastes.
And while you’ll still find hardwood beds, kitchen islands and dining tables in the latest styles, you’ll also see an abundance of smaller pieces you can take home on the spot – occasional tables, stools and coffee tables including a few pieces made from reclaimed lumber from the farm across the valley.

Ideas and Inspiration
Did you know? We’re pleased to have a professional interior designer on staff at The Coop and Dutch Valley Gifts. Nathan Paternoster, a graduate of Akron University, has participated in demonstrations and seminars at the Cleveland Home and Garden Show and has designed homes around the area. Feel free to ask him questions – he can advise you on selecting items that will be both beautiful and functional in your home.
